Blind Spots part 3:3 – Dark and Bright
Discover and embrace your hidden parts
Welcome to a series of online workshops on blind spots where you will learn how you can discover and embrace your hidden parts. It is a workshop series consisting of three independent parts.
- Part 1 is about your dark blind spots.
- Part 2 is about your bright blind spots.
- Part 3 is about your dark and bright blind spots.
All three parts consist of theory and practical work in smaller groups. The workshops are based on Nonviolent Communication with inspiration from Integral Theory (the book Shadow Light by Keith Witt) and social psychology (the book The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt). To participate in the workshops you need to have knowledge of NVC and practical experience of role plays and empathy talks. We will meet on Zoom and to participate you need access to the internet, microphone and webcam.

In part 3 in this workshop series, we take a closer look at both our dark and our bright blind spots. Sometimes judgements enter our minds; a mixture of that we see ourselves as better than others and that others are not living up to our expectations. Thoughts of ”Wow, I’m so superior!” or ”How difficult can it be?” or the like pop up in our heads.
In both of these examples, we do not see all of ourselves. Those judgments block us from being aware of our blind spots. Instead of being in contact with our own challenges or our own greatness, thoughts of our own excellence or contempt for others emerge.
What you will learn
In this workshop you will practice with others on a model to discover your dark and your bright blind spots. It is a process that will probably take longer than the time allowed for in this workshop. After completing the workshop you will have access to a tool that you can use for the rest of your life. By yourself or with support of others you can potentially discover more and more of your hidden parts. By using this process, your self-perception and how others see you will become more and more consistent. If you use the process effectively, misunderstandings between you and others will decrease and your relationships will improve. You will have more and more access to your inner capacity. You will potentially expand your comfort zone and live life more in tune with your dreams.
We have a tendency to look for problems and solutions outside ourselves. It is very difficult – if not impossible – to control events outside ourselves. On the other hand, we all have a potential to control how we act on events in our environment. In this workshop series I assume that we have this choice.
NOTE! I’m not a therapist. The workshop is not a substitute for persons with psychiatric problems where professional treatment is required. Participants will not work with deep life trauma, experiences of abuse or similar serious conditions.
The workshop will be in English.
